Keynote speaker and business development consultant, Linda Ockwell-Jenner was born in Birmingham, England and immigrated to Canada in 1993. A mother to four adult children, she lives with her husband in Ontario, Canada.

In 1997 Linda faced her toughest challenge, when she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Making things more difficult were financial pressures, meaning Linda juggled three jobs in retail, sales & hospitality.

By 2000 Linda was enjoying life and a new relationship, only to once again be diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Overcoming this terrible disease for the second time, Linda went 'back to school' in 2001 to take her career in a new direction. Whilst at school, she discovered a passion for speaking and founded Motivational Steps to inspire and educate others with her story.

In addition to her successful speaking career, Linda formed the Small Business Community Network (SBCN) in 2003 to help small business owners in Waterloo Region. She has grown the SBCN to include the annual Small Business Showcase event featuring other expert speakers and small businesses from around Ontario.

To reach a wider audience, Linda wrote her debut book: A Life Like Mine – Everyday Strategies for Living With Life’s Challenges, in 2005. Across the globe people who read her story, are inspired to take action.

Linda's second book: The APE Philosophy, For Everything Money Can't Buy was released in 2009 after a innovative marketing campaign that featured character blogs, cuddly monkeys and a blockbusting YouTube video series!

Linda has been nominated for the Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest Rogers Women of the Year Award.

She speaks to people everywhere with a mixture of humour and emotion and leaves a permanent message of hope.

"Linda entertained us all with a delightful and insightful presentation designed to strengthen belief in oneself and instill the knowledge that we can rise to any challenge. She let us know it’s not only okay but necessary to “Listen to our bodies and then Speak Up”. With her natural warmth and through the use of humour Linda stresses building relationships as a positive lifestyle strategy.  Linda is by far, the best speaker we have had!"
