Dan Ohler, Phd. (Pretty Happy Dude): relationship, change, and happiness specialist author, speaker, facilitator, comedy entertainer.
If you’re looking for someone with a whole bunch of university degrees, you’re not going to find that here. Dan Ohler has a Degree Of Personal Experiences (D.O.P.E.). He is a farmer at heart. He plants seeds of common sense - practical tools and tips that challenge you to grow your business and personal relationships, face difficulties and change, and harvest happiness and success.
You will gain grass-roots techniques to "Think Outside Your Barn" and to make accountable choices to work together with others as an effective community - in your business or larger community. These are timeless natural laws that many of us know, yet forget to apply.
Dan's humorous, high-energy, engaging style gets results! His stories have clear and profound life lessons. You experience the hurt and happiness, tears and triumph, 'sucky-ness' and success as he shares experiences that motivate you to look at your life in an 'outside the barn' kind-of-way.
You will know that Dan has "been there, done that" as he shares valuable life lessons learned through his varied past and present experiences as a husband, father, farmer, agricultural lender, land consultant in the oil and gas industry, agri-tourism operator, and professional speaker.
Dan is happy to help you, and your organization, to move beyond your self-imposed limitations and beliefs, and create the happiness and success you desire.
Dan has a Swedish background. Although the Swedes aren’t sure they want to claim him!
Dan has two Swedish alter-ego personalities, Ole Olson and Inga Olson. Ole often joins Dan in keynote and training programs. Ole has a clean, simplistic and slightly-twisted perspective. He believes that, "Nobody’s eyesight was ever hurt by looking at the bright side."
Ole, or his wife Inga, can attend your event as a feature comedy presentation. The couple live on a small farm at Pickled Herring Point. You will love to hear about their neighbours, friends and foibles on the farm. This is humour with a strong message about happy, healthy relationships at home and in the community.
Dan performs both characters so you can’t have them both at the same time, although that would be fun. Dan’s love for people allows him to perform these characters with empathy and respect for all.
Help Dan understand your group and your event. He is happy to create and tailor a presentation just for you.

Positive Living: Guidelines for Change
The saying goes, "The only thing constant in life is that change will continue to occur." This is a given. Change is a process in life. And yet, why do we struggle with it? Can we learn to embrace change and appreciate it for what it is - one of life's greatest teachers?
To initiate positive change in our lives, we must desire change, believe change can happen, and consciously choose to do things differently.
The theme for this presentation is "creating positive outcomes and possibilities by living 'on purpose' through positive and conscious thoughts, words, actions and habits."
These three principles support you to become a "change agent" in your personal life, career, and community:
If It's Common Sense, Why Is It So Uncommon?
This business of life can be really, really stressful. It can be holy-cow hectic, rushed, drag ‘em down, beat ‘em up, worn-out, wrung-out, burnt-out, and tiring. And that’s a good day.
Just when we think we have life figured out, and success is around the corner, a monkey-wrench gets thrown into the works to louse it all up. Dang and double-dang!
It may seem like common sense to many of us, and yet it may not be so common in our world. Natually, it’s your choice!
Think Outside The Barn" and use the Darned "F" Words.
Life? It is a strange project that we engage in with the intent to provide us with freedom, intrinsic value and financial reward.
Suddenly we slip into sloughs and potholes that we didn’t expect and we feel like we are the tractor instead of the operator. We keep working harder and harder hoping that someday we will see the fruits of our efforts.
We slog away toward the goals - but forget why. We may get lost in the busy-ness and forget about our desired experiences and desired results - the real "stuff" of life. We may neglect ourselves, our families, and community. Our state of life balance may be all out of whack.
In those times, we may ponder questions like these:

Just when we think we have life figured out, and success is around the corner, a monkey-wrench gets thrown into the works to louse it all up. Dang and double-dang!
- When this happens, do you ever ask yourself questions like these?
- What is life about?
- How can I keep my responsibilities from causing strain on my relationships?
- How can I give my life, and business, some sense and purpose so I can succeed and have fun in the process?
- How can I slow this bus down and enjoy the ride?
It may seem like common sense to many of us, and yet it may not be so common in our world. Natually, it’s your choice!
